Design Concepts—"Sustainable environment + Organic order"

二十一世纪人类和城市发展的方向与目标是在我们赖以生存的地球上，力求解决可持续发展问题，并且建立与自然和谐相处的社会。筑原（Zhuyuan）关注一切生命体得以持续发展的生存空间，提出以“环境共生+有机秩序”作为设计的根本理念与方法。所谓“环境共生”，是作为一种现代的新的城市文化，在外部环境空间这个领域中，诸多物化和文化因素表现为一种客观存在，其最终关注的是特定的场所精神和可持续性意义。所谓“有机秩序”，表现为特定的方法和技术，实现包括使用功能在内的改造目的，其关注的是对诸多复杂因素的争论、评价和取舍，并最终获得一种协调。对于前者，探究其内在精神和一切可控制性元素。对于后者，寻求其最佳的解决途径。在工程经验和理论抽象之间；在民族感情和现代逻辑之间；在文化艺术和科学技术之间；在客观存在和理想目标之间的解构与整合，以求建立一种为特定使用者最为接受的框架体系及其解决方法。

The objective of human urban development in the 21st century is to achieve sustainable development while building a society that will eventually be in harmony with nature. Caring about our living environment, the fundamental design concept strategy of Zhuyuan stresses  creating sustainable environment and organic order. The term “sustainable environment” is a rather contemporary concept. Regardless of the physical manifestation of numerous materials and cultural values in the space, what is important ultimately is the spirit of the place and its sustainability. The term “organic order” refers to particular methods and technics to help achieve the desirable design outcome. It requires continuous evaluation, constant negotiation or even compromise between numerous aspects in order to achieve the ultimate balance. The former aims to discover the essence  of the physical spatial environment in concern and all potential factors that are contributing to such quality and could be controlled. The later seeks to create a framework that, in response to the potential users’ requirements, achieves the optimal solution by striking a balance between physical experience and theoretical abstraction, between cultural sensation and rational logic, between arts and culture and science technology, and between the existing and the ideal.

About Zhuyuan

广州筑原工程设计有限公司于1997年成立，已承接的各类项目超过千余项，并与中国内地设计院合作成立了江苏筑原建筑设计有限公司、青岛筑原建筑设计事务所及昆明筑原建筑设计有限公司，共同组成筑原设计机构。目前，机构拥有各类专业设计人才400余人，提供各类工程设计的全面性业务服务，在同行中享有相当高的知名度和良好的信用声誉。
Guangzhou Zhuyuan Design & Construction was originally established in 1997,  Since then it has been in charge of over 1000 projects of various types. In collaboration with existing design academies in mainland China, the company then set up Jiangsu Zhuyuan Design & Construction, Qingdao Zhuyuan Desig and Kunming Zhuyuan Construction & Design, which collectively are called Zhuyuan Design Institution. Currently, the institution employs over 400 professional designers, offering a comprehensive range of services in both design and construction and enjoys good reputation in the field.

筑原的主要设计成员皆来自接受过国内外现代专业教育，并被社会公认与接受的优秀专业人员。他们充分认识到现代科技与学科交叉在设计领域里的重要意义，十分注重本机构设计师于自身专业领域外，在科技、社会、工程、商业、艺术等多方面的训练。机构拥有先进的电脑网络系统，并不断更新技术软件，力求与当今软件发展的尖端产品同步。
Key members of Zhuyuan are skilled designers with recognized professional qualifications at home or abroad. Being aware of the important influence from the modern technology and cross disciplinary knowledge on design, they often participate in training and education in aspects outside of the professional field, such as science and technology, sociology, engineering, commerce and arts. The institution owns advanced computers, network systems and continuously updates software while trying to keep abreast with the most advanced digital products.

筑原对选择承办的工程一向非常慎重，以求工作负荷达到适度平衡，使主要设计师得以一定的精力亲自参与到工程发展的各个阶段。机构各项工程均由设计小组专门负责，小组由经验丰富、熟悉工程管理各项环节的技术人员组成，并由资深设计师领衔设计，指导工程从最初的构思阶段进入细部设计，组织工程的投标及施工管理。筑原的工作风格强调自始至终负责的一贯性，以确保我们的设计思想最终贯彻到工程的各个阶段。
Zhuyuan has been prudent with the choice of projects undertaken so as to ensure a reasonable work load for its designers. In turn, they will be able to balance their time and energy better in order to participate throughout various stages of the projects. All projects are undertaken by specific design groups, which are consisted of experienced project management personnel, designers and technicians with senior designers’ guidance, from the initial concept stage to detailed design and subsequent bidding and construction management. Zhuyuan emphasizes consistency in design so as to ensure that our concepts and values would be carried through all stages of the projects.

我们一直认为，设计师应当在充分理解客户需求的前提下，致力于设计出构思新颖，并符合工程项目预算及进度计划需求的最佳设计方案；创造出一个既满足各项功能要求，又扣人心弦并经得起时间考验的完美作品。作为一个优秀的设计师，必须具备丰富的阅历及广博的知识，在科技和艺术领域有独到的认识和见解。只有这样，才能创造出一种前卫的，并有自身特质控制，同时又能反映人们真正意愿的环境和建筑，实现城市生态、文脉和科技相共生的现代都市设计新理念。
We always believe that in the premise of full understanding of the clients’ demand, designers should apply themselves to design the optimal design proposal which is in accordance with the project budge and the demand of scheduled plan, a perfect works that fulfills each functional requirements taking the audience’s breath and can stand test of time. An outstanding designer should have abundant experience and extensive knowledge, owning unique cognition and view in technologic and art field, only through what can he create an advanced, own-characteristics-controlled new concept of modern urban design that can reflect the environment and architecture which people’s real hope for and realize coexistence of urban ecology, context and science and technology.
